Cedarbrook has 2 campuses. Our Somerset Campus is located on 27-acres in Somerset & we also have a campus located in Sussex County on an expansive 306-acre property. Our Tranquility Campus maintains large green fields, towering trees, and a beautiful lake, which is a unique feature for a day camp.
Campers enjoy an array of sports, arts & crafts, gaming, gaga, dance, STEM, swimming, special events, field trips and more, and Parents love the peace of mind that comes with knowing their children are cared for in a safe and nurturing environment. Associate Director
Job Description: Associate Directors are responsible for supervising Camper groups and Group Staff, including Group Leaders, Counselors, and Jr. Counselors. They manage Camper arrival and dismissal, attendance, Family communications, and overall health and wellness on campus. while assisting the Campus Director in group Staff training, management, and evaluations.
Eligibility Requirements: Associate Directors should have at least 5 years of camp experience, and preference is given to ascending Cedarbrook Day Camp. Additional professional experience will be considered when specific eligibility requirements within the camp experience are not met.
Program Director
Job Description: Program Directors are responsible for facilitating all aspects of the camp programs, which includes activities, events, and theme days. In addition, they lead all campus assemblies while also assisting the Campus Director in the training, management, and evaluation of the Activity Staff.
Eligibility Requirements: Program Directors should have at least 5 years of camp experience, and preference is given to ascending Cedarbrook Senior Staff. Additional professional experience will be considered when specific eligibility requirements within the camp experience are not met.
Associate Program Director

Group Leaders
Job Description: Group Leaders supervise Campers and Counselors in a group setting, and are responsible for the management of their attendance and schedule. Group Leaders also facilitate participation in activities and events, liaise with Program Staff, and communicate with Camp Families in addition to providing consistent and adaptable leadership, group management and the ability to problem solve.
Eligibility Requirements: Group Leaders should have at least 2-3 seasons of experience in an organized camp setting, day care, or educational field. Additional relevant experience will be considered when specific eligibility requirements within the camp experience are not met.
Camp Counselor
Job Description: Camp Counselors are the primary caregivers at camp, who are responsible for delivering a positive, fulfilling camp experience to our Campers. They are responsible for leading their group through the camp schedule, and helping Campers to fully participate in planned activities, special events, and trips.
Eligibility Requirements: Camp Counselors love working with children, and have an affinity for mentorship, being a positive role model, and facilitating a fun, engaging experience for their Campers.
Junior Counselor
Job Description: The Junior Counselor is the first step in a young adult’s camp career. “JCs” help out on campus with facilitating camp programs and setting up equipment and materials, all while learning foundational workplace skills in a supportive, structured work environment.
Eligibility Requirements: This position is for current high school students completing 10th grade, or who turn 15 years old, prior to the summer camp season.
Arts & Crafts Instructors
Job Description: Arts & Crafts Staff are responsible for facilitating arts & crafts projects for Campers based on the campus curriculum and schedule, as well as managing the art room, including organizing and properly storing supplies and materials.
Eligibility Requirements: Arts & Crafts Staff should have great organizational and leadership skills, and an affinity for hand-ons crafting. Classroom experience and a background in education are a plus.
Athletics Staff
Job Description: Athletics Staff are responsible for facilitating activities for Campers in a variety of competitive and cooperative sports and games, based on the campus athletics curriculum and schedule, as well as managing the athletic activity spaces, fields, indoor gym and related equipment on campus.
Eligibility Requirements: Athletics Staff should have a background in organized sports, and an interest in coaching or physical education. Current and former athletes, coaches, and Phys Ed. teachers preferred.
Waterfront (Lifeguards & Water Safety Instructors)
Job Description: Associate Program Directors are responsible for assisting Program Director in facilitating all aspects of the camp programs, which includes activities, events, and theme days. In addition, they lead all campus assemblies while also assisting the Campus Director in the training, management, and evaluation of the Activity Staff.
Eligibility Requirements: Lifeguarding experience is not necessary but is helpful. Must possess or be willing to obtain a current American Red Cross Lifeguarding certification. American Red Cross First Aid certificates and CPR (child & adult) required. Water Safety Instructor (WSI) certification is encouraged, but not required. Applicants must be comfortable teaching swim lessons for non-swimmers, under the supervision of the WSI’s, maintain camper records, and guard pools as needed. You need to have the ability and patience to work on the pool deck and at the lakefront every day in summer weather, both in and out of the water.
Dance/Hip-Hop Instructor
Job Description: Dance/Hip Hop Staff lead Campers in semi-weekly group dance instruction, in preparation for the annual Family Night. Other activities, such as movement and music, may be incorporated, including fitness, yoga, and drumming.
Eligibility Requirements: Applicants must have a strong background in dance, with experience in a structured dance program. Music training, playing an instrument, and singing experience is a plus.
Cooking Instructor
Job Description: Cooking are responsible for facilitating recipes and cooking project that Campers can eat! They follow a scheduled program curriculum, and also manage their supply inventory and cooking space.
Eligibility Requirements: Cooking Staff should have great organizational and leadership skills, and an affinity for hand-ons crafting with food. Classroom experience and a background in education are a plus.
Game Room Staff
Job Description: Game Room Staff are responsible for maintaining and facilitating activities for Campers in the game room, which includes a variety of interactive table and board games such as ping pong, air hockey, pop-a-shot and more. As well as modern consoles like PlayStations, XBox One, and Nintendo Switch. Game Room staff are responsible for maintaining and facilitating electronic gaming for Campers.
Eligibility Requirements: Applicants should love to play games, and have a knack for teaching others how to play. Strong organizational skills are a must, especially for keeping track of game parts and pieces as well as an understanding of basic wiring and connectivity.
Pedal Kart/Go Kart Attendant
Job Description: Do you have the need for speed? Do you thrive in a fast paced, energetic work environment that focuses on serving our people? If so, Cedarbrook Day Camp is the place for you!
Eligibility Requirements: Safely loading/unloading campers, strictly following safety protocol, briefing and assisting campers as needed. Cleaning and maintaining go-karts/pedal karts.
Support & Office Staff
Job Description: Office Staff take care of the administrative happenings at camp and keep camp organized and running smoothly. They are our customer service operation, answering parent phone calls, and helping out in any administrative way possible.
Eligibility Requirements: Potential candidates must have great organization skills, pay attention to detail, and excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Medical Staff - Camp Nurse
Job Description: Medical Staff are registered nurses (or higher certification) who work out of the Health Center and handle first aid incidents, ill campers, and distribution of medications.
Eligibility Requirements: A registered nurse or licensed practical nurse, licensed by the New Jersey Board of Nursing; An individual who is certified in advanced first aid, paramedic or emergency medical technician or first responder/CIM accredited by a certification agency approved by the Department as listed in "Recognized Certifications (CPR-First Aid-Lifeguarding-Trained Pool Operator),“ available here; An athletic trainer that has a valid certification from the Board of Certification, Inc. (BOC).
Campus Operations
Job Description: Campus Operations Staff are responsible for helping to manage the day-to-day operations at a particular Cedarbrook campus, including but not limited to equipment management and setup, minor repairs, receiving deliveries, managing inventory, campus cleanliness, and event support.
Eligibility Requirements: Possession of a valid driver’s license and personal vehicle is preferred. Must be able to safely lift and carry loads of 50 lbs or more.
