At Cedarbrook, the opportunities are boundless. Your camper will experience their first canoe ride, master the art of archery, take their first spin in go karts, unleash their artistic talents, craft their first lanyard, score their inaugural soccer goal, or nail that elusive jump shot, learn new dance routines, reel in a fish, bake delectable cupcakes, master the art of diving into the pool, hit a softball, zoom down the water slide... and then return for more the next day!
Our camp allows kids to get away from screens and take time to learn new skills, have amazing adventures, and make friendships that will last a lifetime.
The primary aim of Cedarbrook is to create a surreal summer camp setting and adventure that will leave an indelible mark on our campers!
Our dynamic daily schedule offers an array of sports, arts, and aquatics activities, combined with our distinct specialties tailored to suit each group of campers based on their age. Throughout the day, our campers explore new activities, and foster their imagination.
In our Freedom of Choice elective program, campers are able to discover new interests, learn new skills, improve their talents, and have fun doing it!
Campers engage in 2-3 optional activities from Monday to Thursday. Each day, they have the opportunity to choose a familiar activity or explore something new. There are tailored options for both junior and senior campers, ensuring a diverse range of age-appropriate activities. Campers can view the daily activity choices on the website or during the morning assembly, and then register for their preferred activities. Once signed up, they are on their way to enjoying a variety of exciting activities they have selected for the day. It's an opportunity for campers to explore, learn, and create unforgettable memories!
Often, children and young individuals tend to align with the decisions and schedules set by adults, as it is a reflection of our society. However, empowering kids to have a voice in their own routines and activities is crucial. Here at Cedarbrook, we incorporate 2-4 periods daily where campers can independently their activities. In the morning and after lunch, campers have the freedom to select their preferred activities. These choices allow children to explore new experiences, understand their preferences, learn from mistakes, and experience the joy of achieving their goals. It's truly inspiring to witness them grow and thrive when things unfold as planned!
Character has been a subject of study and debate for many centuries. Researchers at the Character Lab define character as "intentions and actions that benefit both the individual and others." They further clarify that character encompasses "strengths of the heart, strengths of the mind, and strengths of the will."
This three-part approach to character is beautifully supported by character expert Thomas Lickona, who states, "Good character consists of knowing the good, desiring the good, and doing the good — habits of the mind, habits of the heart, and habits of action."

At Cedarbrook, we prioritize downtime, allocating a precious 15 minutes between activities. Additionally, our senior campers enjoy free periods during the week, providing them with the opportunity to socialize and simply relish being carefree kids.
Cedarbrook boasts a diverse range of skill-based activities, from swimming and group activities to exciting themed days and special events. Our camp is abuzz with activity, offering campers the chance to explore, learn new skills, and cultivate teamwork throughout the day. While it requires great amount of energy to remain focused on camp activities and events, the rewards are immeasurable.

The Somerset Campus is located on 27-acres with shaded groves, a winding brook, pristine playing fields, swimming pools, spray park, basketball courts, ga-ga pits, sport fields, arts & craft facilities, air-conditioned game rooms, and so much more in a beautiful natural setting.
We also have a campus located in Sussex County on an expansive 306-acre property. Our Tranquility Campus maintains large green fields, towering trees, and a beautiful lake, which is a unique feature for a day camp.
